Can a 8 pin PCI-E cable extension work for a 8 pin EPS slot?

Because my mother board needs an 8 pin and a 4 pin eps cable, and the cable extensions only come with a 4+4 pin eps connector, no other eps cables.  But I will have an extra 8 pin PCI-E in the box, so can I use that?

Nope. They are both physically and electrically different.

Your motherboard also does NOT need the second 4-pin EPS cable either, it's for stability at super high clocks (think LN2 cooling)

Unless you're doing extreme overclocking your motherboard does not need the extra 4 pin.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Yes using PCIe plugs on the motherboard will fry your hardware.
But if you plug in the 8pin, chances are great you DO NOT need the 4 pin.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

Why don't you do it right and use the correct cable?  What PSU do you have?
