Doesn't this card perform like 2 titans? So why is it 3x the price of the titan? Are they charging an extra $1000 for the extra VRAM? Maybe I don't understand the reason for making it, unless it is actually a lot better than 2 titans.

Why not? This is not a gaming card after all and people buying it for gaming usually know that and don't care. And people buying it for it's double precision might just find a single card more convenient than 2.

There is no valid reason for the price of this card to be so high, the convenience of having these raw numbers in a single PCI slot is hardly a good excuse to charge $3000. I love Nvidia and refuse to use anything else but typical them to pull a move like this

Still learning how to play Dota 2 :)

They are predicting low sales, this inflates the cost of R&D.

If they're predicting low sales, then why bother making the product at all? A stupid move or they're lying through their teeth, and I believe the latter.

Profit is profit, people will buy these cards, they do have a purpose just not to that many.

I really don't see z doing much for a gamer

because titans aren't aimed at gamers to begin with? it's a Tesla card with gaming functionality.. if you're not in need of a Tesla card don't even bother looking at a titan(1st gen)
