Does PSU's intake being half blocked a problem?

LOST TALE

The case has a support underneath the fan filter. There's some space. There's also standoffs between the fan filter and the psu, about 2mm or something.

I'm wondering now if this may have cause my older PSU to fail faster.

It's a Seasonic Focus GX. Fine at the $122 CAD it's listed for on ca.pcpp. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/hrqBD3/nzxt-c-850-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-np-c850m-us

I don't see that. you linked the c850.

I mounted a system fan on top of the PSU intake fan. Could this cause problems in making the psu fan turn faster and maybe send some bad current or just help?

Yes. The NZXT one has a slightly worse (?) fan, though.

I just saw it only take 100W for the CPU and HDDs. is this a concern if I use more?

CPUs take power from the 12V rail, C850/Focus GX 850 is rated as 840W on the 12V rail. HDDs power consumption are low (~20w), and they take power from the 5V and 12V rails.

isn't the CPU power connector a 5v or something?
