You'll probably have even more issues with performance having both driver sets installed.

Yes it is. Actually I don't think performance would be an issue. It matters which GPU is your default.

Main: Intel Core i7 10700K 4.8Ghz | MSI Z490 | MSI GTX 1080Ti | 32GB OLY 2666Mhz | 1 TB NVME, 3TB HDD

Good luck getting that to work. IT IS A ROYAL PAIN.

It can work it just is such a pain to keep it working.

For OP try to DDU the driver you have now and isntal the latest. Also is your psu good enough for the 3080? A 750w B tier unit from the psu tier list is most of the time just enough to barely not enough and plenty of people have stability issues due to that.

This always confuses me.

There won't be any problems. But the proper drivers installation is a bit annoying, but having different GPU makers in a PC won't cause any issues (source ; I've had different GPU makes (AMD and nvidia) in multiple PCs).

Installation to avoid driver problems ** ;

Install only GPU A in the PC then install the drivers.

Remove GPU A, install GPU B

Install drivers for GPU B

Install GPU A again, enjoy

**(I skipped the "shutdown" and "reboot" steps as it should be ovbious).

It's possible, but the drivers will likely conflict with one another and cause more prominent issues than whatever you're experiencing with your 3080 alone.

What 850w? Also you might just want to reinstall windows

What games are a problem?

You will be ahead to find out what's causing the problem with your 3080 than to try to run both of those cards and switch between them.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

There shouldn't be any problem running two cards that way. You might even dedicate certain workloads to one of the cards. I recommend gaming with the 3080 and if you do, video editing with the 5700. But that also depends on different circumstances.
