"WARNING! BIOS Recovery mode has been detected" | Asus x570-E

WARNING! BIOS recovery mode has been detected,

Please put file "SX570EG.cap" into HDD or removable USB media device, and then reset the computer. You can also insert ASUS support CD to your CD-ROM and reset your computer, if you have done these, Please wait a moment and don't shutdown system!!!

System will be automatically rebooted.

I was updating my bios from ver.2408 to ver.3604, using Asus EZ Update. Update process started and after a restart, I ended up on this Error!

My CPU 3600 XT.

Tried BIOS Flashback with 3604 CAP file in flash drive [FAT32, USB 2.0]

Unable to restart my system, Ctrl Alt Del doesn't work.

Can I remove power and start again? Error says don't shutdown system!!.

snip

Have you tried doing what it says?

download the latest zipped bios

unzip the downloaded file

rename the cap file, make sure file extensions are showing or use the provided rename tool.

put onto usb [FAT32, USB 2.0]

install into a rear USB port (one of the red USB ports but NOT the bios one)

Wait.

I've seen this error with heavy overclocking.

The bios entered a recovery mode that doesn't necessarily mean you have to update it.

The recovery bios is on the factory system disk and you can post from that to flash the recovery bios.

Chances are a shut down and clear cmos should help.

However if the issue keeps occurring even at defaults, the best course of action is try the recovery and then ultimately RMA the board.

Good luck
