Game only says 7gbs of vram when I have 8gbs of vram

Hi I'm playing the new resident evil game and enjoying but I got curious when the graphics bar said 7gbs of vram when I'm supposed to have a 8gbs of vram, I have evga 2080 ftw3 card 8gbs, an answer would help

Rather theres 1gb reserved by something else or the game is just using a estimate that allows 1gb to be used by windows.

Check in taskmanager, if theres an issue with your memory it would show there.

 

Probably your just looking at what the game allocates though (which is typically a lot for RE / Capcom games)
