Is it okay if i install a M2 SSD under my graphics card??

nobody4324

Hello.

I have a Gigabyte B550M DS3H motherboard and a ASUS RTX 3060ti.

The Mobo seems to be very small for the gpu's size (not sure if that's normal), so it covers one of my M2 slots (also 3 of my sata slots 😞 ), as shown bellow

So my question is. Is there any problem if I install an SSD there??

Thanks !!

Very normal, thats why most mid range boards moved to the side sata port rather than the front facing one.

It depends on what you do, but unless you basically turn it as a caching solution or video editing, it wont go that hot.

Why you install it there when you have M2A?

The first slot is better since it got the signal from the cpu.

Heat rises and just about all modern day gpus have fans.  Meaning there's plenty of air circulation in the area adjacent to the gpu.

Well then you got no other choice.

My last motherboard only has 1 slot under the gpu, and it worked fine.
