Is there any reason not to just go ahead and install all the drivers listed on the motherboard's website?

Windows finds most stuff on its own nowadays, and manufacturer drivers can be old/unmaintained/bloated. I only use manufacturer drivers if something isn't found or missing functionality with default drivers (apart from GPU of course).

So is there anything I need to do?  Or would Windows have already installed important stuff like chipset drivers?

Check in Device manager to see if nothing has an exclamation mark.

I have these.  Not sure what the issue could be.  I updated my GPU driver via Nvidia's software.

I prefer to download the chipset drivers from amd.com or intel.com, same as i do with the video card drivers.

The drivers that are served through windows update can be old, up to a few months old, as they're usually the last "windows hardware quality certified bla bla " drivers with extra validations done by microsoft, so that process can take some time to be complete and by the time it's done amd or intel may have one or two beta or even proper driver updates.

It's usually newer drivers than what's on motherboard maker's page for that motherboard model, as they don't update those download pages daily or even weekly.

Some motherboards have extra usb controllers or other things, in which case you may have to go to motherboard page and download those drivers.

In the picture above I see a usb controller issue and something related to pci devices .. which may be either an actual pci card installed (ex sound card), or some onboard device that's connected to the chipset through on board pci connection.

The only thing I have in a slot is the graphics card.  Under display adapters, it says the graphics card is working properly.

Then right click on those, go to properties , then details  and select Hardware IDs

For example, see this picture

VEN_8086   - ven is vendor, who makes the card, or chip... 8086 is the vendor ID for Intel

DEV_A12F  - dev is short for device, this device has id A12F

So you can google for these two and you'll figure out what driver you need to install.

You can google those two, or you can go to sites where you can enter those two IDs and learn more about what that device is and then get the right driver.

example sites:

Devicehunt : https://devicehunt.com/view/type/pci/vendor/8086/device/A12F

PCI Lookup : https://www.pcilookup.com/?ven=8086&dev=a12f&action=submit

pci id repository : https://pci-ids.ucw.cz/read/PC/8086

As you can see if you click any of the above, they tell me right away it's a usb 3 controller from intel so I can go on intel's website and download the driver.

You're missing some chipset drivers or something... it's obvious.

If you have an Intel system, they provide a convenient utility that identifies all related drivers and when new ones are available.  I have found it useful on some mITX boards that have Intel Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Workstation PC Specs: CPU - i7 8700K; MoBo - ASUS TUF Z390; RAM - 32GB Crucial; GPU - Gigabyte RTX 1660 Super; PSU - SeaSonic Focus GX 650; Storage - 500GB Samsung EVO, 3x2TB WD HDD;  Case - Fractal Designs R6; OS - Win10
