could this be the iphone 13 making an early appearance

rmnsachy

watching the April 20 Apple event I noticed this while they played the trailer for Season 2 of  Ted Lasso. the lady holds an iPhone but looking at the iPhone it seems to have a smaller notch and a longer body. I couldn't work out any other differences but it would be interesting if Apple is hinting that this will be the iPhone 13 design
Am I the only one that noticed this or am I going crazy

Pretty sure that's just CGI. They might know what the front of the new iPhone is supposed to look like so they modeled the screen in the show after it. Don't get hyped over a new phone though, phones are just tools.

I somewhat agree with you. I would imagine it's a physical prop meant to look like an iPhone.

And wow that last bit hit hard.

I love consumer electronics, but it's important to be content with what you have. It's better for your wallet. An iPhone 8 can still do about 95% of what an iPhone 12 can.

I find it hard to believe that they'd let many people outside of Apple get hold of a new device so early (keeping in mind too, that this clip may have been filmed even a year ago), let alone risk flying it in a pandemic over here to the UK where Ted Lasso is filmed, and then giving it to the cast. Saying that, Ted Lasso Season 2 is supposed to premiere in July (I think), so Apple may have had another event by then, or may be close to another, so revealing a design feature of the new iPhone may not be a risk, and may also produce some hype for the device. Apple get a lot of product placement from Ted Lasso too, so it is probably important to them that the devices in the show are their most current and prized, giving Apple the most premium and up to date advertisements as possible, hence them using a new design that we haven't seen before, but one that we may be accustomed to when the new season releases, or when the show has been out for a few months. If Apple premiered a new season of the show with outdated product placements, eagle eyed people would notice that too, and although I doubt it would have a negative effect, Apple is about attention to detail, so they'd probably rather showcase a brand new device, even if it is just a prop.

As one person above has said, it is most likely CGI, or as the other said it could just be a prop, but it is interesting that they've let that out; it could be so that eagle eyed people like yourself notice it and begin to speculate and look forward to a new iPhone design, or that could just be a side effect of them planning to use their most current designs in the show when it releases. Again, either way, it's good product placement for them.

Get hyped about whatever you like by the way, if you're excited for a new iPhone, there's nothing wrong with that. To some people they're just tools, to others they're a bit more interesting; like how a lot of members of this forum see computers as a hobby, whereas the majority of people in the real world use them as tools.

It is interesting to look at the finer details of the clips they played though; watching the Ted Lasso trailer I spotted a Nottingham Forest kit (pretty clear with the white tree and Football Index sponsor on the red backing), not a team I support, but one that is local to me, so that was interesting to see. Hopefully they take a trip to Nottingham! I for one am excited to watch the new season of Ted Lasso, and to see what else Apple has up their sleeves!

That's down to your own situation and opinion though. Nothing wrong with OP being excited for a new piece of tech, we all live our own lives.

Yeah,I'm rocking an oppo A52. Not the greatest, but it does 99% of what an iPhone 12 pro can: All I want is a better camera.
