Which PC Case Fans to use?

Lecom1020
Go to solution Solved by Orian Pax,

glad i could help, all the best.

2 of my preinstalled fans died and now im replacing all my fans in my system but i dont know which ones to get

case : be quiet silent base 802

cpu 5950x with a top mounted 360mm radiator

gpu rtx 3090

mainboard x570-f gaming

my problem now is which fans to choose (140mm) where to plug them in (mb doesnt have enough 4pin headers it used the standart 3pin fan hub included with the case)

would prefer something with good performance

silent is not the most important thing for me but nothing to extreme please

budget around 170€ = ~200usd  (5 case fans)

Arctic P14 PWM

be quiet! Silent Wings 3 PWM

Scythe Kaze Flex 140 PWM

BTW, Silent Base 802 is still under warranty! It can't be older than 6 months.

i would like to share something about, i should have done that earlier,

you can add phanteks halos later on noctua's (i am planning to that with mine, i too don't care about rgb at all this is just to hide that brown and beige until black version of those fans comes in)

plz  go through this, you won't be disappointed, i had that query too.

Edit -
bit more info -

(honestly with 5-6 nf-a12*25 and commander pro for 20€, it's a steal, at least for me. they, fans and commander pro are too expensive here above msrp.)

and one thing i would like to point out is that fans many fans start to make noise after 2-3 months and i have never heard about that noctua doing.
on the other hand to tackle this problem i could get thrice as many fans of arctic's p14s.

edit above

done with your thread now looking into the video  in your thread woodenmarker said it would be better to go with the a12 when you get 1 fan more in your thead it was 4x120 or 3x 140 in front  your case supports up to 480 mine only up to 420 in front so woudnt it be better to go a14 in that case?

yes it would be great if it supports upto 420mm.
with that said arctic's p14 might be better to consider here (performance per buck)

what im getting out of the reddit post you linked ist that arctic fans are basicly performing the same or simmelar  only that you have a slight change that they have a bit more noise/ vibrations (if your unlucky (lottery))

yes and p12s have some sort of humming sound which p14s doesn't.
at least majority of people who posted this problem were the owners of p12s.

in case you don't want to save money and go with ur budget you can't go wrong with either of the 140mm fans,
(performance wise, color wise it's subjective)

and i have heard only positive things about noctua's after sales service.
i have yet to come across a bad or very bad review of noctua's service
