Ok, so I have had reasonable time with Megadeth's Dystopia album to do a review. I think my review can be summed up in four words: "What the fuck Mustaine?"

All the songs comes off as the musical equivalent of a Dave Mustaine rant. Atleast those rants were saved for in between the songs, but not here.

I usually try to distance myself from the message the music carries, but that is rather hard when Dystopia is pretty much a concept album.

If you are looking for InfoWars the Album this is not a bad place to start. 

 

I also have no idea about who produced the album, but whoever s/he is they need to be reprimanded in some way.

The drums sounds distant, the guitars are compressed and muddled beyong belief. And I have no idea what happened to Dave's voice.

Either he is getting old or a sound engineer screwed up big time.

 

I guess the guitar work itself is not bad, and I did enjoy most of the solos quite a bit. 

I'll give the album a 2/5

I can't believe that I have to rely on Anthrax to bring good thrash metal to 2016.

You know Metal Church is releasing a thrash album/power metal album this year, right?

I did not. 

Actually I thought Metal Church had broken up after they released Generation Nothing. 

Well, I will check it out. But I hope the album is less like Generation Nothing and more like This Present Wasteland.

 

Reportedly Kreator, Sodom, Destruction and Metallica might also release something this year, but all are a bit up in the air at the moment.

Only 1 new song so far.  First time Vanderhoff and Howe have worked together.

Doesn't sound bad at all. I'll have to check the album out when it releases. 

It sounds like the Metal Church I remember, so it will be intersting to hear if the entire album is up to snuff.
