If you don't need a motherboard: get a 5800x (you can find them in stock)

If you need a motherboard: get a 5600x (in stock) and a decent motherboard.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Do you already have a motherboard, or do you need a motherboard along with your CPU?

What CPU exactly?

The i7 and i9 11th gen CPUs are useless. Core i5 is alright for some of them.

5600X all the way.

5600X doesn't need a Z590 motherboard for overclocking and consumes much less power (65 watts vs 125 watts).

there are reports of 11600k not even hitting 4.9 under 1.4v, depending on ur gpu and resolution i recommend the 11400, 5600x, or 10700kf if you do go with a 11400, just stick the stock cooler on there and save some money

The 5600X is really good for gaming and light video editing. It's a great CPU and will probably be the recommendations by many going into the future after the 3600 has reached the end of the line (purchasing one that is).

With your budget of $450, the 5600X will have to do. If you had a couple hundred dollars more and also use this rig for other things such as work, video editing, running simulations (basically anything that revolves around you making a paycheck), a 5800X or even a 5900X would do. If you really need the cores, a 3700X or 3900X although these chips are a generation behind, but are still good performers.

B450 Tomahawk, Asus TUF branded B450 motherboards. Well the majority of B450 or even B550 motherboards are great.
