Microphone That Cancels Speakers

Nate.

I’m looking for a microphone that can cancel my speakers, because sometimes I prefer to use speakers rather than headphones. It would be best if it stood on the desk. Thanks.

Build:

  • CPU: AMD 3700x
  • Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO RGB
  • Motherboard: MSI x570 tomahawk wifi
  • Memory: Teamforce Delta RGB DDR4-3000 16 GB
  • Graphics Card: EVGA 1660 SC ULTRA
  • Case: Fractal Design Meshify C
  • PSU: Fractal Design Ion 660w
  • OS: Win 10 Pro
  • Case fans: Sickleflow 120 RGB (3-pack)

Nothing I say is guaranteed to be correct, please remember this. I'm still learning every day.

Feedback is appreciated!

(in other words i can say stupid stuff so double check what i say)

I can't recommend a specific model (plenty of folks who can here though), but I think a dynamic microphone or a highly directional one is what you are looking for (not a condenser).

Best solution is still headphones in my opinion. You don't need to cancel out what isn't there.

Crystal: CPU: i7 7700K | Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z270F | RAM: GSkill 16 GB@3200MHz | GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti FE | Case: Corsair Crystal 570X (black) | PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 1000W | Monitor: Asus VG248QE 24"

Laptop: Dell XPS 13 9370 | CPU: i5 10510U | RAM: 16 GB

Server: CPU: i5 4690k | RAM: 16 GB | Case: Corsair Graphite 760T White | Storage: 19 TB

Yeah, good luck with that.

You can increase the SNR:

- turn down the volume of your speakers as low as possible

- increase distance between your microphone and your speakers

- decrease distance between your microphone and your mouth

- speak louder

- use a directional microphone, point the axis with the highest sensitivity onto your mouth and put your speakers in the direction of the highest rejection

- decouple your microphone from any structure-borne sound

- use something like RTX voice or at least a gate
