721831101

this is the monitor i am interested in

27GL650F-B, 1080p 144hz ips etc

but aussie rpicing will cost roughly usd80 more

also current gpu price is ridiculous for upgrading from rx570

expecting 1 to 2 yrs for gpu being normal again ( aus gpu  are really costly too in past, exc gst)

If it’s a deal that is unlikely to be repeated then yes, if it’s at or close to normal price then only if you need a monitor.

You have to weight up all the variables and decide if you want to part with your cash now or later.

I am looking at going to 1440p, my RX580 could handle it but not at very high frame rates, probably high enough though. I am not buying a monitor as I am happy with then 1080p 144hz one I have now. If I didn’t have a monitor I would buy a 1440p 144hz one without hesitation.

Generally is not a good idea because at the point you get your graphics card the monitor might be outdated feature and resolution wise.

Basically if you don't need the monitor now then don't buy it.

If you think it's an improvement over your current monitor and you're actually going to use it instead of shelving it somewhere then why not...

Imo it also depends on what is the current monitor. Like mine is from 2009 (and the other is from 2012). I probably won't have better GPU in a year, but I would be more than willing to score nice new and bigger monitor if the price was right.
