Which as an better cpu

I have an ms-7525 motherboard with Intel pentium E2160. I'm upgrading this motherboard. I'm gonna change the cpu. There are two options for me buy one is an intel pentium e6800 and another one is intel core 2 quad q9400. Which one is better for me to use. 

Im in a tight budget. I'm also gonna add an gtx750 2gb on it. Guys give me some suggestions

The Pentium one should be better cause games does not get that much of performance boost from having many cores. Having 1 or 2 cores and a good clock speed would be enough for the games you listed.

Gta v will absolutely use the extra cores. I am unsure what you are talking about.

The core 2 quad does not have great clock speed. Games benefit from clock speeds. And both of the cpus may perform similiar with GTA V.

That is insanely false. You wont have any acceptable experience using a dual core with GTA5/FH3-4/NFS or even CSGO to an extent. OP I am not sure if you board supports Q9400, and any gaming experience with new games using a dual core is just not gonna cut it.

If you can overclock the core2 quad by any means it should perform significantly better than the pentium processor.

I agree the pentium one is bad but it's worth the price.

The Core2 quad is a quad core processor. Going AMD would be the better option here

this whole 'games don't use many cores' thing is outdated as heck since a few years now, it's not 2009 anymore, 6c/12t is absolute minimum nowadays for 'modern' titles at least.

Yes it requires a mod, which is pretty simple but better to buy already modded one. Good pictures of mods can be seen here, for example.

Be aware that you might have to mod bios too.

Not sure how it compares price wise but I previously used a Q9505 off ebay for a pretty good price. Slightly higher clock speeds and definitely an improvement over the E8400 I was using prior. 
I would definitely look at a quad core model given these CPU's don't use hyperthreading. Otherwise system resources are likely to impact gameplay even more.

The a320 series motherboards are cheap. And there are ones in which you can overclock too

For a low price i'd suggest the a320m-A pro max from msi. It performs good when paired with ryzen 3200g . Both the cpu and motherboard is supporting overclocking.
