Copy iscsi zvol to external storage from freenas

m9x3mos

Hello all,

I currently have a freenas system running 6 x 3tb hdd at the moment. I got a good deal on 8x 6tb drives. Two will be cold so spare.

So I am looking at switching the drives. How can I copy out the zvols that I have to import them back again after I swap the disks?

zfs send a zfs recv and copy it to a external drive. You can copy to a file on the nas?

But id just replace the disks one by one. Why do you want 2 cold spares, seems way overkill.

Thanks, I'll take a look at send receive.

Not sure what I'd copy since I don't see it in the mount point.

I just have 2 extra that I can't connect to the machine since it was purchased as a lot from ebay as new old stock.
