Z470 aorus pro wifi boards having experimental nvme slot non functional

So actually I happen to have this board and a few SSD'ss to fill in the 3 slots that are physically present and the top most one Doesn't seem to be working with any of the 3 drives which by the way work just fine in the other two slots.

Can someone tell me is that slot just useless or is it for intel optane only.

You mean Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Pro AX

You cannot use the top slot (yet, not until Intel 11th Gen releases).

It is a unusable / blank reserve slot until you swap a 11th Gen CPU in.

The top M.2 "will get" it's PCI-E bandwidth from the CPU -- like with AMD Ryzen.

Intel 10th Gen currently only has 16 PCI-E lanes STILL, and it ONLY goes to the PCI-E X16 slots, where your graphics card(s) go.

You are currently only able to use the bottom two M.2 slots.

It is actually (somewhat) mentioned motherboard manual...currently completely skips talking about the M2B_CPU slot.
