Much better to get an electric air duster. Canned air is bad, really bad. Only best used when you can’t use an electric air duster for some reason.

So, you are saying compressed air is definitely not a good idea?

Canned air is a bad thing... proper air compressors in the hands of untrained persons are not going to be pretty when it comes to cleaning electronics

A simple electric air duster is perfect.

PC's prefer to be blown....not sucked.  No sloppy blows either....PC's don't like excessive moisture.

  • 3 months later...

I use a shop vac and a paint brush to clean the insides of my workstations. I hold the nozzle a few centimetres over the area I want to clean and brush the dust from the components into the air so the vacuum gets it before the dust can settle back. Sometimes I use compressed air with  the vacuum instead of a brush which works well for cleaning out cooler fins.
