Upgrade from i5 9400F

Hey guys,

 

I'm thinking of upgrading my CPU as it seems to bottleneck my Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 XT.

Questions:

• Would the Ryzen 5 3700X be a good pair with the 5700XT?
• What would be a decent motherboard considering I'm on a bit of a budget

I mostly play Fortnite and edit and render videos.

 

Current Specs:

Mobo: ASRock H310CM-HDV

GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 XT

CPU: i5 9400F

RAM: T-Force Gray 32GB (16x2)

AIO: ML240L V2 Coolermaster

 

Budget for Mobo and CPU: ~$600-700AUD

i'd get a i7-8700 with your current motherboard, that should be enough to max out the 5700xt.

otherwise, any ryzen 2600, 3600, 2700, 3700, 5600 etc would max out the 5700xt.
