Has anyone ever taken their PC on a plane/train with them? (ITX)

Would the hadron air be a good case to take on the train or plane for example? Would the components be easily damaged? Looking at one of NCIX's video with linus -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZhg4yi7XKo      it looks like it was quite compact and secure.

Thanks,

Blueprint

Honestly though, I would really never take my PC on a plane. I've had things destroyed in luggage (camera and a few other things).

Host PC's are too large to be considered carry-ons.

Linus has taken their Shuttle rig on the plane to CES 2012 IIRC. They put it in carry-on luggage though, I would NOT trust it to get there safely if it's being held in the cargo bay. Those tarmac workers can be pretty nasty with luggage.

You can, just look how Singularity Computers ship his builds, they are massive, heavy, full of components, watercooled and are shipped across the world like that. He never had a PC getting damaged on shipping.

  • 2 weeks later...

Soft foam. Packing nuts. More foam. Bubble wrap. A few prayers to your God of choice and perhaps a deal with the Devil.

Taking it on a plane? Baggage guys don't give a shit.

Shipping to your destination? They are inclined to give a shit. Thats preferred if you can ship to your destination and pick it up from the depot.
