Go to solution Solved by Electronics Wizardy,

Does your pc have a 3 pin cable with a earth/ground lead that it is using to plug into the ups? If so its grounded to the ups.

In my country we don't usually ground our power outlet to ground so I got some shock treatment from my computer case. I ground the UPS that my PC plug into by running a wire to a bag of dirt, it seems to fix the problem of my PC try to shock me every time I touch the case. Is this enough or do I have to run another wire to ground the pc too?

Well ok, I know my way of wording that was bad, so let just say it's a bag of organic soil and it big enough for the pc to stop zapping me. I know it kind of a dirty method, but it works, because I can't just put a grounding rod in the ground where I live even if I wanted to. I'm sorry that you have to read that Durden. No sarcasm here, kinda sad that I can't just use a proper grounding rod.
