Is there a benefit for 4 sticks of ram on a dual channel board?

Hi, so I bought the Gigabyte b550m Pro motherboard and paired it with 16gb (2x8gb) of 3600mhz c18 ram. Looking at the spec sheets the motherboard only supports dual channel. So does this mean that I will not get any additional FPS benefits from adding an additional 16gb of ram?

Additional Notes: This is for gaming performance where 16gb is technically enough, but will adding 16 more yield better performance. And my CPU is the 5800x

Thanks in advance, won't be able to reply in a few hours.

I believe GN found it like 2-3% faster, at the expense of lower oc possibility.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

4 sticks of memory will give you a small performance increase. It's not a significant amount worth switching to 4 x 4 GB , or to add more memory in your computer, but there is a small performance increase.

It's useful when 2x8 isn't enough, and 4x8 has both the benefits of more ram and in dual rank (some 16gb sticks are actually single rank, and if ur lazy like me, getting 4x8 is the easy way to go), it's good for zen and it keeps some intel setups competitive.

IIRC HUB found in a different video that it helps intel setups even more (though zen 3 should still be faster in most cases)

For a 9900k running at 5.2ghz, i got 138fps avg on 2x8 vs 144fps avg on 4x8. It was just tested for fun and mainly 2x8gb just didnt cut it for me so i had to go with 4x8, i can also find the same sticks in 2x16gb but they wouldn't oc to ddr4100. So there are pros and cons.
