Does the brand of Displayport cable matter?

Donut417

I have a 1440p ultrawide, I need a DisplayPort cable to connect my gaming machine. The Display is 1440p 60hz. Ive tried ordering the recommended one is the pinned thread, but Amazon has its head shoved up is ass and keeps sending me the wrong version. I specifically ordered the 6.56 ft version and they keep sending the 3.28 ft version. They had done this twice, Im getting a refund from them. It pains me to say this, but would a Bestbuy branded cable do OK? im going pay much more than I would have on Amazon. Also what display port version would you suggestion? Im running a RX5700 if that matters.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

This discussion can be really interesting I think, because some cables actually can be a bit temperamental, HOWEVER not everyone lives in the US...

@Skiiwee29 any other brands?

If the specs is correct, there will be no difference for signal quality.

Expensive cable should have higher  quality material & build quality.

DisplayPort 1.4 or 1.4a should be fine. It's been a thing since 2016 (1.4a: 2018), and with 2.0/2.1, while the standard has been approved, nothing on the market integrates it yet.
