Thoughts.... Currently have an i5 3570K and am hoping that it will bring around a noteworthy upgrade time. Hoping....

Why would you upgrade from a 3570k? you don't need to unless you need more cores.

PCIe 4.0 (which will be totally unneccisary), DDR4 standard, lower power consumption, better performance than Haswell/Broadwell. You know the usual :P

With what you've got, unless you screw up and your CPU spontaneously combusts, you won't need to upgrade any time soon.

Skylake is so far away and technology goes so fast, can't comment on it.

Given the way Intel integrated GPUs are going, probably decent on-chip gaming performance at 1080p

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - CPU Cooler: Deepcool Castle 240EX - Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC

RAM: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RBG 3200MHz - GPU: MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO
