Is a corsair TX 750 v2 still okay to use?

jtmoseley

I have a friend who wants to buy my old GTX 1080. He's running an i5 8400.

Right now he has a 1050ti and a 400 watt power supply which isn't enough for the 1080, but his old family computer has a corsair TX 750 v2 in it. He's had that computer for at least 5 years but it has been inactive for the past 3.

He verified that the old computer with the TX 750 still turns on. It was a low power computer, had a 550ti and an i5.

So basically he wants to know if he could use that old power supply instead of his 400 watt one. Is it safe?

Edit:

It is this power supply https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Power-Supply-Units/Enthusiast-Series™-TX750-V2-—-80-PLUS®-Bronze-Certified-750-Watt-High-Performance-Power-Supply/p/CMPSU-750TXV2

No, time to replace it, that's an old discontinued PSU and group regulated based on the S12II and want to run a GTX 1080 on it.

Replace it.
