Does it matter if all the ram chips are on one side of the module or should they be distributed across both sides

just want to buy a new ram module and there is price difference so just curious. Volatge and speed and cl is same

ram chips on one side is single rank dimm, chips on both sides is dual rank dimm.

Dual rank tends to not clock as well as single rank but has different (usually better) performance characteristics
