Used 1080Ti FE vs 20 series (2060)

Go to solution Solved by Mateyyy,

The 1080Ti is comparable to the 2070 Super and 2080 - they trade blows depending on the workload, though more often than not you'll probably see the RTX cards pull ahead, especially in newer games.

A 1080Ti for the price of a 2060 sounds like a pretty solid deal, if you ask me.

Hi all,

I'm planning of getting rid of my old 1080Ti FE and gifting it to a friend, however the price that I found was around the same for both the 1080Ti and 2060 ($500-600AUD). Since this is around his price point I was hoping for some feedback as to whether I am giving him a fair price for the performance, or if he would be better off going for a new 2060.

If the 1080Ti is still better, what 20 series card would he have to buy to begin outperforming the 1080Ti? I noticed that even the 2080 seems slightly worse (on paper at least).

His specs:

MB: Asus P8Z77-M PRO

CPU: i7-3770 3.4GHz

PSW: Corsair VS 550W

Thanks in advance :)

I have a 2060Ko and a 1080 and they are pretty much the exact same.

So a 1080Ti will be better by a good bit.

He has to keep in mind that it's older, no RTX, no DLSS (I think) etc.

Wow thanks for the speedy responses guys, I've let him know and the plan (as it stands) is to see if he can get a 2070/80 on sale for boxing day, otherwise he's happy with the Ti.

So unless other posters say otherwise he's currently leaning in that direction.

Thanks again.

i would also try to convince your friend he needs a better psu for a 1080ti or a 20 series gpu.

Haha yea I have told him that, but a good PSU is a decent investment so I'm sure he'll be happy to get an upgrade

Cheers for all the help!
