Hybrid Gaming PC/NAS

Jozhua

Hi,

I'm looking at building an editing/gaming PC/Storage Machine & NAS style thing, been as internal hard drives are a tad cheaper and I can do stuff like RAID arrays?

Are there any motherboards/storage configurations you'd recommend for this use? Basically I just don't see the point in buying two sets of hardware to do what could be done in one. I'm not planning on it being on 24/7, just when I need to access files.

I probably need to store in the range of 10Tb of files (multi-hour ProRes video files lol).

Well Linus did this.

The same case will some new parts will work great.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

what is your budget?

Probably £1000-1500, so up to $2000. Although prices are higher in the UK, so basically $1000-$1500

Is this for the whole pc or just the storage upgrade?

10tb isn't that much storage, just get a big hdd or two in your desktop and make a share in windows, and mount it on other devices. No reason to install unraid or other oses here.
