CPU Upgrade

Save your money for a whole system upgrade at a later date. Your motherboard isn't good enough to just pop in a 5600x. Also at 1080p, it just isn't necessary. You have a good match of parts.

As others have said, a 3600 would be a good upgrade especially with the fact that I can sell my 1600 for about £50-£60. I will 100% wait till black friday though because you never know if it will get put on a deal because its "last" gen

The 3700x may go on sale for around 200. If that happens ya know what to do

So sell your 1600 for 60, get the 3600, and then wait till early 2022 (when zen 4 releases), and buy a 6500x.

It does look like a good route to take. I will probably hold out for black friday deals before I do buy anything though due to the chance of  some parts getting a decent discount.

The 3700x probably wouldn't be worth it for me, but you never know. I will wait and see.

Hi all,

Im looking at upgrading my CPU. I currently have a Ryzen 5 1600 seated in a Gigabyte AX370 gaming k-3 MOBO. Not sure what would be a good upgrade. I game at 1080p 144hz with a 5700XT. Any advice appreciated.

get a 5600X and btw some 300series boards will support it

Why would you do that though? It's going to run terribly.
