Godfall - Enough VRAM for RTX 3080?

makadee

Does anyone know if this game could be ok with a 3440x1440p monitor?

I am talking about running it on ULTRA settings on a RTX 3080.

Let me know if you have any ideas!

Probably not, considering the video the actual developers released.

Just lower the resolution or lower the details.  4k gaming at 120 fps is pretty much a meme at this point, about as bad as 360hz monitors.  That performance point is for games that are a few years old (Overwatch can manage it, for example).

It's a Next Gen only Game, 10GB is not enough for highest settings.

Just lower the texture settings and you are ok.

The 16GB in consoles is shared between CPU and GPU and Xbox has a 10GB target on the GPU side you can 100% match the same quality settings as Xbox at 4k.  Anything additional like the texture pack they mentioned yes that is correct however it may work fine at 1440p.

Nothing like seeing 40fps in Watchdogs Legion on a 3080 just a few weeks after getting it... (not a vram issue).

Does the PS5 and XBOX have the same rendering power as a RTX 3080?

Thats what I said for 1440p would 10GB be enough?

Nope you just may need to use similar settings to stay under 10GB the fps should be higher...

So the game devs announced that for this game we will likely need 12GB's of VRAM for 4K.

You are asking if you are fine at 2,5K

The real answer is: no one knows without benchmarks.

It's an AMD partnered game, so it's natural to make these statements.

What is the target FPS?

Are the settings realistic? IE: ubersampling on the witcher 2

We often saw settings to push competition out of the market like "Nvidia hairworks" tanking AMD's performance

We will know soon enough

I guess we will see, but I would be highly surprised if Nvidia doesn't have an optimization that keeps this game under the 10GB VRAM limit for the RTX 3080.

I bet 4K works just fine on the 3080.

November 12, 2020 so I expect actual benchmarks a couple of days before this.

The 6800 XT releases on the 18th, and depending on performance we may see people jump ship and swap their pending 3080 orders, or not, benchmarks and retail price will define this.

No, they are much slower, the PS5 GPU is comparable with a RTX 2070, the Xbox GPU with a RTX 2080 in terms of performance.

These console wont even have real 4K most of the time, most of the time its around 1440P  (internal) and upscales to 4K, so yes, we might see that 10GB could be used for 1440P only.

Exactly, and I dont think you want to set your settings at console level if you own an expensive GPU.

Depends the quality is far better than last gen and a lot of "Ultra" vs "Very High" settings are not perceivable 9/10 times.
