Budget laptop under 400€?

Zelenia

Hey,

I'm in situation where I probably need to buy a laptop for studying. I'm mainly going to do browsing the Internet, reading articles and writing on it so nothing demanding. I won't play any games on it. SSD is kind of must have but size doesn't matter much (250gb maybe so it can have Windows and Open Office 😆).  Processor should be somewhat recent so I don't need to wait for 2 years to open browser.

It needs to be light weight so I can carry it around without breaking my shoulders. I'd also be happy if I could use that machine as 2nd monitor to my primary pc.

The thing is that my experience with cheap laptops has been quite terrible. I've owned few laptops and anything under 1000€ seem to break down in 6 months.

I just don't feel like investing much in laptops but it's mandatory for this school I did apply to (probably because all schools are moving to remote studying).

Thanks in advance!

I would try to get a computer with a one or two generation old processors (preferably i5 or i7) off of your local listings like Craigslist or failing that off of eBay and then source a cheap (possibly used) SSD for it. I paid about 300$ (USD) all in for my current daily driver with an SSD and ram upgrade all off of eBay.

I'll keep my eyes open for one. My other option is just to get a cheap pad and buy keyboard for it.
