Anyone Tested 3080 with i7 8700k

Mondale

Has anyone with an i7 8700k cpu been able to get their hands on a 3080 to be able to give feedback on how it performs? Any bottlenecks or issues that would say not to get a 3080 or even a 3000 series card?

an 8700K is still one of the top performers in modern games. Any high end GPU is reasonable to pair with it.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

I understand it's still a good performing cpu but I'm wondering if anyone has actually paired one with a 3000 series yet.

i have a 8700k and a 3080strix.. seems fine aprox 87% improvement compared to my old 1080ti.

that was the first stock test in silent mode... have not really tested it .. it runs now, aprox 2040 in the game mode on avg. says 2130 in heaven..

GPU tweak in heaven 120 % powerlimit and OC mode then it runs 2210 but it runs fairly hot, so there should be more in it, and the CPU only runs stock, have no reason to overclock.. so it just runs silent in daily mode.
