Got watter on LED monitor

At night spiled some water on my LED monitor removed it put it in sleep mode and went to sleep myself. Woke up in the morning and this was what happend. Has anyone experiaced this before and has any sugestions?

Some sipped through though the gaps and damaged the panel.

Sleep mode doesnt make it powerless, you would have to pull the plug to really save electronics from further damage. You could try and leave it unplugged for a week and hope that the water disappears, but i highly doubt thats saveable

Not much you can do except open the monitor and the lcd panel very carefully and then clean/wipe all the plastic foils and layers behind the actual lcd glass.

 

May have to find and buy same monitor even but can be broken (even with cracked lcd screen) , to pull out the foils of plastic and replace yours. 

Basically there's a bunch of plastic sheets and foils behind the actual glass with the pixels which have the purpose of spreading the light evenly across the whole surface (the light is emitted by a bunch of tiny leds on the edges of the screen)

The water either corroded a sheet somehow or made it opaque blocking the light ... cleaning that foil may get it transparent again

 

Though you have to be super careful when you open up the lcd panel, because too much pressure can crack the glass... but it's doable.

So after 3 days of being off working pixal count increased. (Gona post how screen develops for reference of other people who may incounter same issue).
