If you really need a graphics card get the 780 but if you just want to make an upgrade just wait for Maxwell.

I am currently playing games on a laptop with a 650M, i need something to game on for the summer, so I can wait until May, but I don't think thats enough time for Maxwell. So I think I will go with 780, then sell and get new card around christmas

Precisely. YOUR logic is that a GK110 with 500 less CUDA cores can't be quicker than the Ti when overclocked.

That isn't MINE, I rest my case.

That wasn't what i was saying. You were saying that it's just an oced 780 and that's plain wrong.

Good God. This is called a figure of speech. It may be too much for a blunt instrument to comprehend but allow me to rephrase if I may.

An overclocked GTX780 is EQUIVALENT to that of a STOCK GTX 780TI.

780Ti is really a overclocked 780. I run mine at 1300mhz and it beats a stock Ti easy.

no its not

the 780ti is completely unlocked, not like the 780 or gtx titan

its not just the clock speed

if you can overclock your 780 on air to 1300mhz you must have not done any stability testing or benchmarking...

If you buy a 780 now with a new system I doubt you will need to upgrade unless you bought a second one.

Before Jayztwocents put his 780 under water it overclocked to 1300MHz with a slightly modified BIOS on the card.

If somebody is asking a question like this one you can't just tell him wrong information. (Even if to you it's just a figure of speech. To me that is wrong infromation.) Also there are not a whole lot of 780's that can oc as far. Also your argument is invalid because one could just oc a 780ti.

I'm sure I cheated in Firestrike. Also pretty sure I hacked the asic score to get 91. Yea asic has been busted but hey it still has slight truth. Also hacked Unigine Valley.

Fair enough we understood it differently. Well I wasn't arguing but trying to prove a point that say for instance you can't exactly afford the Ti but would try to shell out the extra cost would a 780 be good enough and the answer is yes. If you can't afford the Ti, let alone overclocking it.
