The samsung has IIRC a 5 year warranty and I think the crucial also has a 5 year warranty, but I am not sure. Either drive will be very nice and make that machine feel amazing. I put a cheaper kingston drive in my old laptop with a dual core i5 and 16 gigs of ram. It may not game super great but for my wifes usage it dosent have too. school/office work is a breeze.

It looks like you plan on cloning the old HDD to the new SSD, I have had good luck with   Aomei Backupper  the free version works just fine.

Others have posted about  this one https://www.easeus.com/backup-software/personal.html But you have to enter your email to download it.

Hi my new ram arrived but when I install it with either one of them or both the laptop doesn’t boot? Would start up but the screen will never turn on and when I go back to the old Kingston one it boots up fine? I installed it right and grounded myself but it just not working any ideas?

Try with just one stick of the new RAM at a time. Once in each slot, if it boots with just one stick then it might be that laptop cant handle 16GB (which honestly would amaze me..)

I did try that no luck and I know my max is 16gb max tried holding the power button while the battery was out and all but the screen just won’t turn on. I swap back to 4gb and it works fine?

Just in case its some weird issue their users might be aware of that we/I have not ran into. There is a very slim chance that new memory is bad (and I mean slim)
