Where is safe to place a motherboard?

I think my GPU is damaged but there is the possibility that the PCI pins of my motherboard are broken.

I want to test my GPU in other PCI slot but my case have the other slots locked.
Where I can put my motherboard for testing. Could I put it in a wood desk?

So unlock these slots. It's easy. It's just piece of metal. Sometimes even possible to mount again (if screwed).

You can even put it on the box it came in. Provided it's not some sort of tin can or something.
