First time buying a new laptop other than Thinkpad/Mac in over 10 years. Just got an XPS 9500.

Still rocking a P52 / Early 2015 13" MBP Retina with i7 | 16GB | 1TB 970 Evo. My P52 just mainly sits in my office, kinda large to lug around and after 5 years of glorious service I cracked the glass on my MBP. It's not terrible just the glass but drives me nuts lol

 

Ordered a XPS 15 9500 a few days ago and should get it next week sometime. Once I get the 5900 I'll be taking 64GB from my P52 and adding 2 1TB 970 Evo's to top it off.

It'd be either DDR4-2400 or DDR4-2666.

Nope it's ddr4, has a 8th gen Xeon.

Yup it's DDR4-2666, had 2 64GB kits in the P52 but a single 64BG should be sufficient and will help me rune more VM's with the XPS.

Makes sense. I was wondering if you were going to be leaving the P52 with no RAM at all. What's the GPU on it, the P3200?

No the P52 will still have 64GB, it has 128GB right now. Yup it's got the P3200, I don't think I've ever actually tasked the GPU other than some folding this laptop has just been a mobile testing lab.
