Which 3080 am I most likely to get and from what site?

dreaminonlol

I'm trying to secure a purchase of a RTX 3080 on release date tomorrow the 17th. I was just wondering what card and from what site am I most likely to succeed in buying one? Newegg has a lot of options but I don't know if that's the best site to try and secure a card. If I was to choose one I would get the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 but I feel like a lot of people will be going for that card. Also checking to see if anyone has information to exactly when they will be available for purchase because I saw something about 6 am PST but I'm not 100% sure if that's when the cards will be available.

The my guess is that the strix wont be ready for launch. Only reference AIB and founder models.

I don't think so because even BestBuy has that card showing on their site with a release date for tomorrow the 17th.

Msi have a great 3080 pre overclocked, and you can overclock it even more.

They called it msi rtx 3080 gaming but it have a 3x8 pin connector

unless the reference cooler surprises me, i will go for the strix, the 2 HDMI ports are quite important for me, because of my setup at home, and i really don´t want to convert Displayport..

my SR75 has this wierd HDMI / Power cable that combines the two, and my pc is also connected to a LG GX display with HDMI and getting a G2 Reverb, but i am quite sure that is display port.

and i have had the 1080TI ROG card, 2x970 Strix models, and all have been dead silent.

I don't think there are actually any in my postcode for physical collection. I'm not sure online's going to be much better.

This is kind of a pre-launch marketing lottery.

Edit: Thinking about it, it wouldn't surprise me if there weren't actually any in the U.K. :0/

good luck with that! Haha...you think you have like a ''choice'' or something here! XD

The only cards available will be the nvidia founders edition card, you can buy one on nvidia's website but good luck with that.

ALL the other cards will released later...like...later later...like in...later this year and early next year.

The binning leaks have driven me further away from ordering day 1. If you manage to get a 3080, good. If not, you get a better bin and a faster card later. Good luck. Better bins are actually hundreds of dollars, and all you have to do is wait a bit.

For the best chance have the cash in a Paypal account and avoid using bank cards. Have accounts open with Amazon, Newegg, B&H, Nvidia and any board partners you buy from. If you lose a card it will be in check out.

I will not be playing the try to get a card early game since there are just too many questions unanswered. For example the 2080 ti was a fanatic card because of its overclocking capability. It has a TDP of 250 watts but the card came with ability to use 375 watts with the two 8 pin power connectors. Now the 3080 has a TDP of 320 watts with the ability to draw the same 375 watts as the 2080 ti. That does not sound like fun to me.

I will need a lot more info on these cards before I make any decisions what cards to get.

I'm pretty certain when Newegg and Best Buy put a release date on something that means they will be somewhat in stock they aren't going to say something will be available on a certain date if they didn't have any available.

Yeah seems like having some method of auto-filling your address/card info will give OP a slight edge over the literal thousands other people trying to purchase cards. Hey on the bright side, it's not like any of us will have to worry about refreshing a page for the entire day since stock will be run dry probably by 11am EST.
