which video are you watching right now?

TheCoverUp

This is a video that seems like a bad idea to make to me.  Most people seem to have cellphones with cameras on them.  I can see an inbox being flooded with closeup photos saying “is this a hyperboloid?”  Not something I want to see.  Especially several hundred times.  Replies like “stop eating rubber bands a Lima beans” and “no, that’s a hemmoroid” having limited effect.

If @LMGcommunity LMG, would handle a disclaimer for "one pedal drive modes" on electric cars that might have unsafe software issues?

Also not just one pedal, some cars that tries to do things with regen braking.

But yes electric cars can be stupid and "unregulated" as f

There’s a thing about one pedal drive settings being someimes bad?  I wondered if my brake lights were commming on.  I got a Nissan leaf.  The video implies I don’t have this problem but I think I’ll try to turn off. The one pedal thing.  Someone who has one of those cars should worry though.  Good video to post.

Just go to the fricking Apple Store.  The catastrophizing in this is astounding.  And it turns out nothing.  Yes their monitors are insaneyoverpriced though.  They have been for many years.  They’re for people who have expense accounts.  Like that absurd monitor stand.  Owner-operators have been buying apple machines and non-apple monitors for a very long time.  If you’re buying equipment at a level where mostly only businesses buy it apple is going to stick you.  It’s been that way for 20 years.  It’s also why they last a long time though.

This blew my mind a little, but it’s late so it’s a fairly small mind to blow.  Also I don’t really do that stuff so the ignorance factor is high.  For all I know this is nothing more than an Amazon tribesman being shown a cigarette lighter.

the very high service cost of "modern" cars can be insane.

more so if its full of tech features. Will you be hit in your taxes when 1000's or more have "small damages" that can cost 5k-50k?

Also more denying of serivce or repair, to dedicated services you get locked into, which could cost millions in the future.

One of the basics of car ownership is a vehicle that is worth less than the repair to make it road worthy is generally crushed. So a car with a 50,000$ repair has to be worth more than $50,000 repaired or the repair simply won’t be done. If repairs are expensive it effectively shortens the service life of the vehicle.  This is one of the things that worry me about built in batteries.  A car with built in batteries effectively cannot last longer than the lifespan of the batteries.  Technology seems to be on the edge of creating batteries with if not actual infinite lifespans then functionally infinite ones at which point such things cease to matter.  The carbon 14 “batteries” Tesla is researching are supposed to last for thousands of years and they’re not so much batteries as tiny nuclear generators so such a thing wouldn’t even need to be fueled. Nuclear power without the safety concerns.  Wide deployment would screw up carbon dating after a while though because the amount of carbon14 in something is what is used to measure age in really old things.

The emergence of 3d printing may also affect stuff drastically.  This has actually already happened to some degree.  Automobile light fixtures have been often printable for some time even when the original part predated plastic and was made of glass.  One of the big issues is plastic automotive dashboards.  They tend to crack and repair is sub-optimal.  3d printers often can’t replace them yet, but cars with plastic parts may yet turn out to be cheaper and easier to repair than those with metal ones.  Right now they’re not though.

these games will always have drama around them, be it ships, tanks or in space.
But it seems like it has resolved some of the current drama, but for how long? and what does it say about seeing players as "workers" or the attachment they want and time spent to such titles and gameplay mechanics.

for over 1-3 years this have sucked and will continue to get worse on youtube. As if you have seen those "elon" "tech" "news" or others like it.
Either following trends, mass uploads, generated, to when generation get more human like but can push very bad misinformation or hours of nothing.
Hope youtube strike down on these networks that kills the space, and maybe the semi need for some "verification" or "verified space".

One side of youtube, says its dying and with all the changes to youtube over the years, some comments below and in video.

Ofc this can be more on smaller channels and maybe if they "bring enough to gain for youtube to push their content", if its true.

How ‘bout “YouTube has had some crap products lately while dumping good stuff to make room for them”

If YouTube is in trouble I think it’s the fault of the YouTube executives making seriously crappy decisions.  This has happened repetively with the US auto industry over the years.  And of course said executives lie and try to pass the buck.  Sometimes successfully.  The “Japanese invasion” in the 70’s was entirely auto executives sitting on their fat asses and being caught out.  So they riled up their workers who killed a Chinese dude.  Tesla absolutely crushed other American manufacturers in motor and battery technology.  So there was this right wing “electric cars suck” thing that lasted only as long as it took the big three to produce an electric car.  It was never true.

If dude is right about why it works (and it strikes me as totally reasonable) even if they’ve got a patent it’s too close to basic physics.  This seems end runnable to me.  If all the metal adds is mass you could do it with plaster or, dare I suggest, etched glass with lighting?  I’d want to compare it to a regular fan with silicone screws.

5 minute crafts is mostly awful to the point of dangerous.  The pizza thing is tempting though.  I don’t have a toaster oven.  A lot of the other stuff is standard though.  They actually sell angled sticks like that for crepes, and have for a hundred years.  Same with the stick and juice thing.  It’s normally a glass rod and is the standard method for decanting high molarity acids. Has been since men wore powdered wigs.  Possibly before.  It’s trickier than a funnel and only works with really watery things.  You can fit it in a tighter neck though (that rod can be wire thin) and they’re easier to make out of glass than funnels.

Yeah, psychopaths nor sociopaths don't wear a badge.

I mean you might know one even if you don't know who it is. But I guess these kind of videos are great to familiarize the types.
