monitor What should I buy first?

So, the new RTX Series is coming out soon and I’m planning to get it as soon as it’s out. But the problem is what should I buy first since I only have a 60hz monitor? The 3070 or a 240hz monitor?

 

I currently have 1660 on my pc, that’s why I still have a 60hz monitor.

The monitor first.  Cos you probably can't get the first few restocks of the 3070, and secondly, while you wait for stock, you can still enjoy the 240Hz display on your 1660.

whatever've you find best, but one thing to keep  in notice that if you buy a 3070 you can play games on 60 hz but if you buy 240 hz monitor first then your 1660 wont keep up with that, thus producing a bottleneck so in my opinion you should buy a 3770 first,

You won't reach 240hz in games, but everything else you do on the PC will be smoother as well.  Also, that's not how bottlenecks work.  Bottlenecks is something stopping another thing from performing.  Having a monitor refresh rate higher than your game FPS isn't stopping anything else from performing as it should.

Monitor.  The chances of you getting a 3k series this year might be slim.

He'll get more FPS that he can't see cos of the 60hz monitor... Plus chances of getting a 3070 anytime soon is slim at best.

Plus it is likely that the 3070 will be out of stock for a majority of the next few months. And the 240 Hz smoothness will feel good in normal tasks

Personally I'd go with 1440p 144... But either way I'd upgrade your monitor first, even if you can't max out the settings, there are plenty of places where you'll be able to get a use out of the higher refresh rate

Most games that you are actually going to play at that refresh rate can be done pretty easily by a 1660

I would just get a 1440p 144hz 27 inch monitor. The difference between 240hz and 144hz is extremely minimal anyways and this allows you to get some really really good accurate color producing monitors.

The sharpness of 1440p is also something that is really nice and gives extra visual clarity in single-player story-driven games.
