Help Finding Compatible X570 Chipset Water Block

Can someone please point towards a compatible chipset water block for my motherboard? I have a ROG Strix X570-E Gaming motherboard. The motherboard comes with a really annoying fan that is extremely loud when I start up my machine.

A link to the manufacture website for the motherboard can be found here: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-Strix-X570-E-Gaming/

I currently have a monoblock from EKWB at the moment which doesn't cover the chipset: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-quantum-momentum-rog-strix-x570-e-d-rgb-plexi

Thanks for any help.

Thanks. So there isn't like a cold plate I could use?

Something like this https://www.performance-pcs.com/water-cooling/water-blocks/water-blocks-misc/koolance-plt-un45p-cold-plate-45mm-x-45mm-1-8in-x-1-8in.html

I've also seen somebody on youtube use a waterblock but on a different motherboard for the chipset. See this video:

I just don't know what dimensions I need for my motherboard.

Just go into Q-fan tuning and turn the fan down.

I wouldn't bother watercooling the chipset.

I've seen videos of people using generic blocks and straps to cool the x570 chipset.

I'm not aware of any fancy custom made ones but you can absolutely buy a generic block and do that.

something like: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32893101595.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.35b34f18mrllhY&algo_pvid=f6775f76-e84f-42d1-a22e-bb4057ff9f3b&algo_expid=f6775f76-e84f-42d1-a22e-bb4057ff9f3b-42&btsid=0bb0622a15993559544268415e31ad&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

That's exactly what I was thinking! How do I know what dimensions for the block I should get? I know it's dependent on my motherboard, as far as where there are screw holes on the motherboard that I would be able to secure the block to the chipset. I suppose I could open mine up and measure it, but I was just wondering if there is like a standard that I know will work with X570 chipset and my motherboard?

You'd have to measure your motherboard holes and get something that's slightly smaller.

But there you go, something like that can work. Those chipset fans really are annoying noisey!

Also there are some mainstream options apparently:

Watercool HEATKILLER (NSB or SB)

I think you have to order direct. I can't find any in stock, and some places report 30 to 90 days out. But because they're a reseller, they're just waiting on their own shipments. I suspect anyways.

Also, ideally you'll want the SB (South Bridge), but NSB (North South Bridge) will work too, you'll just have to validate obstruction with the video card.

God! That was an epic fail for me. Don't waste your time.

I have an ASRock X570 Taichi, and I attempted replace the chipset HSF with a 50x50mm heat sink. I used double-sided thermal tape with the best rating I could find; 3 W/m-k. At first, temps were ok at idle. Under gaming, got around the low 70's C. Warmer than I'd like, but it held and was silent.

It was only when I slammed both the CPU and GPU with a stress test (Furmark) did the worst case scenario reveal this to be "A BAD IDEA". Temps on the chipset started to climb in the high 70s. Once it reached 80, it ran away and got toward 90!!!. The heat-sink started to sag. I suspected it was going to fall off, and it did right into my hand as a reached into the case to catch it. It got too hot for the tape to hold. 😬😨

I suppose I could revisit the idea by using epoxy, but given how it was still warmer than I'd like, I'm going water cooling next time.

Simply put, the x570 platform needs to be water cooled for silent operation. It's an unwritten rule frankly!
