when do you think pre orders are going to be available?

Nvidia hasn't said anything about pre-orders yet, you might have to order one on sept 17th. before they go out of stock, cards go out stock quickly at launch.

The thing is we don't know how hot these cards are.

EVGA is not doing a 2 fan card this time. That means to me they are hot since they took a lot of flack for their 2 fan cards being hot in the 20 series. Even their Kingpin card is going from a 240 radiator to a 360.

All the signs say hot so I will be looking at reviews first.

This is the first generation I've been able to jump on a flagship card day 1 .. My question is, I see people saying that cards sell out quick but how quick are we talking ? Do I have the day, a few hours, minutes or is it seconds like some concert tickets ? Very excited for this launch and want to get a 3080 or 3090 as soon as possible. Also will there be any major differences between the FE version and say the Asus ROG Strix version ?

u literally have to sit there and snipe a pre-order, especially since the perception that the 3080 is priced too cheap (gj nvidia), nvidia usually has the cards that overclocks the best, while partner cards will have better cooling (it has to) and end up outperforming with custom pcbs, unless you put the FE under water.

If you do miss the pre-orders, i'd say you are looking at a 2-3month wait for a 3rd party model, but you are not really "missing" anything unless you wanna put a FE in a loop.

Personally i'm waiting for reviews, power draw, temps (back ram), rast performance, and a higher power limit 3rd party model, having 2 8-pin on a 3090 when stock is 350w is a no from me.

The Asus ROG Strix RTX 3080s actually use 3 8-pin connectors .. going to make cable management tricky but could also turn out pretty cool looking

Having not tried to preorder in the past do we expect things to go live at 12:00 am or is it likely to be some *sane* time in the morning haha?

Would you be able to get a preorder card shipped from Canada?

Pre-order cards likely to go live on Amazon, NewEgg, Memory Express at that time too with the AIB partners?

Sorry for all the Q's, have never tried to get a card at launch.
