My friend once bought a chinese octacore phone that was really powerful, but the radiation coming out of it was more than 40 times higher than normal smartphones. It would literally give you a headache after 10 minutes of just looking at the screen.

That screen resolution though.....ick.

I'd rather buy from a reputable brand and know that it's gone through the appropriate tests.

With a decent contract you're not going to pay anything for the phone when aquiring it. And with the additional contracts fees because of the phone I effectively payes less than 200€ for my SGS4 two months after launch.

very interesting to hear feedback from people that know about phones I have never found a reason for a phone that does more than can call or text

I totally get the not using it for more than calling and texting, right now I'm in the same boat. Small town, and I'm not usually that far from a PC.

When I live in the city, I need a GPS, so a larger screen helps with that. I also run a business when I'm there and need very speedy internet connections, as well as access to an eBay app so that's when I buy a more expensive device. I wouldn't be able to make nearly as much money without it!

For sure, we were all new once ;)

That phone isn't bad at all, but the main reason why it's so cheap is because it doesn't have 4G/LTE. Plus I'm sure the build quality isn't the best either.

I've found found some good, cheap 4G/LTE phones for not too much more than this. I can't link them now, but if I remember to, I will later.

As a side note, Goophone has a really good $120 phone. It's 3G only, but still though.
