Can we please have a feature which removes complete, verbatim quotes of the first post in a thread? In the forum format, by replying to the thread, you are implicitly replying to OP anyway, so it's just a waste of space.

Emphasis on complete and verbatim - obviously if you are doing a point by point response to a post then quoting it makes sense so that people can easily see what point you're responding to

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Just put your cursor in the quote, and remove everything you find unnecessary. If that is everything, you can write something like *snip*

While I do +1 this, it's not the most annoying thing people do here. I don't even see the point of quoting OP though, because OP will get notifications either way, and you're obviously not addressing a response without a quote.
