simultaneous multi threading, very very basic explanation is that it allows the core to do more than one instruction at a time, if the cpu didn't  have SMT, then the core can only do one task at at a time. 

again there's way more to it but it's a basic explanation.

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

 

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad. 

 

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

 

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

It’s hyper-threading. Means each core has two threads.  

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

SMT may be:

 

simultaneous multi-threading.

A technology that can (in very short) make a core act like two threads. A thread is basically what your OS will see as a 'brain' of the CPU, which can do calculations and stuff.

Intel calls this Hyperthreading.

The i3 2120 does, it's 2c/4t

If you look at the screenshot it says Yes in the column for the i3s and No for the i5s. Which means that it's correct.
