Hi, I'm building my pc into a desk and am trying but failing to find mounting brackets for 5.25" drive bays. Do such things exist!?  If so, where can I buy in the UK?

Thanks

What case do you have? You shouldn't require a bracket to mount optical drives since 5.25" bays are the largest you'll have on a case.

Blu ray drives are 5.25”. So no adapter needed there. IO, what do you mean? Like USB’s and stuff? There are USB/card reader type thing that are made to go into a DVD (5.25) slot.

For front panel I/O that are the size of a 3.5" bay, you could use something like this to mount it to the 5.25" bay.

A standalone 5.25" mounting bracket? If they exist they're not common.

If you're already going custom desk PC why not find an old junk tower. Cut the 5.25" bay out of it then paint it up to look pretty?

That'd be my course of action.

I don't think you realised what I meant... I'm building in a desk, not putting a tower in a desk.

I think that may be what I resort too... was just trying to save my old case 'just in case (excuse the pun).

If you're OK with spray paint you can use just about any old junker chassis you can find. You don't have to hack up a box you were hoping to save.
