Ryzen 3 3100 with gt 1030 V/S Ryzen 5 3400g?

So I have been planning on buying a R3 3100 with gt 1030 combo, but a R5 3400g is cheaper. Which one should I go with?

Btw, first post for me.

The iGPU in the 3400G is faster than the GT1030, so the latter one is the far better choice.

well the 3400g's igpu is quite similar to the 1030.

but the 3100 is a better cpu, in the end the 3100 and 1030 combo will perform slightly better, budget for a build? and what will both of these be priced at?

but in general, the 3400g is a better price/performance option.

you get both a faster CPU and a faster GPU if you just buy the 3400G.

a faster cpu? compared to the 3100?

Yeah, I had a brainfart.

The CPU in 3400G is like 5% slower, but the iGPU is about 10% or so faster than the 1030, so it's still the better choice.

yea, it does even it out a bit, but at the end of the day they'll be quite similar, if the 3400g is quite cheaper, definitely a better pick.

I know 3400g has more cores than the 3100, but the 3100 is Zen 2 where as 3400g is Zen+, so that is why the confusion was there. Thank you everyone.

I believe the 3400g igpu edges a gt 1030 (which is a rip off in price) I'd go with a 3400g.

No it doesn't? But the 3100 has a better fpu, ipc,. Cache layout and is an over all better chip.

If the price difference is huge between them, go for the 3400g.

if you don't care about gaming performance, and only about gpu performance, go 3100+1030.

if you care about gaming performance, go 3100 + literally any other second hand gpu, like a rx 570 or a gtx 1060
