Is this build okay?

hello all sifu, newbie here. wanna make sure the compatibility is okay as fellow especially the power supply and ram. Especially the power supply. Very limited budget

RM200 - Athlon 3000G
RM200 - MSI a320m a pro max
RM154 -
ADATA Premier 4GB DDR4 2666MHz UNBUFFERED-DIMM 2x4GB or ADATA 4GB DDR4 2666MHZ UNBUFFERED-DIMM DESKTOP PC RAM 2x4GB
( difference is premier and non premier, not sure what the differences is though.)
RM70 - PNY CS900 120GB
RM 45 -
AVF ATX 500W With 12CM Fan Power Supply

Total - RM669
Reuse 1tb HDD from previous rig

And https://postimg.cc/N9ZJn1Pv do you guys perhaps know what cable is connected to this hard drive? I maybe abit to reuse this on my new rig.

The usages are

  • multitasking in surfing google (basically watching dramas, and YouTube) and office work at the same time (but not often doing office work, occasionally, mostly on surfing google part)
  • some office work (word, pdf file etc)
  • switch on mostly everyday ( but will be turn off at night )
  • no gaming
  • planning this build to last at least more than 7 years as the usage is quite low?

reusing peripheral and case

My previous rig that died (because of one of capacitor bloated on mobo ? )

  1. Amd Athlon tm 64 x2, can see on the link that it only work on Amd 2,3 and 3+ which no mobo now is able to support ? I guessing this processor is still working ?
  2. https://postimg.cc/VdpKj8WL (This is the mobo that my old build died )
  3. https://postimg.cc/K1TJfH07 ( This is the capacitor, the 2nd one is more bloated than the 1st one) -> Which is why the mobo cannot bot, <- The shop retail told me this
  4.  Asrock motherboard. (not sure the full model )
  5. This is my previous rig power supply btw https://postimg.cc/ThN50WXR , think it is still working fine.

That's what i know from the hardware. 😖😖

Thanks for reading through my post, and any help are appreciated ~😊😊

Hard to beat a refurbed office pc for that use case. Also naturally slim form factor and has windows license.

If the only problem with your motherboard is blown capacitors you can pay a technician to solder new ones on the motherboard.

silm form factor is pricey not ? As usually small variant size cost more than a normal.

I bought it to a retail shop, and they diagnosed that the motherboard capacitor bloated (not sure whether he is telling the truth or not as when he just check thoroughly) And the shop ask me to buy a new one, as this rig is able to last for so long is a miracle. That what he said.

i mean yea, you can find plenty of optiplex's on the used market for Cheap.

you could ask the seller for extra pictures. test it if possible, ask what it was used for etc.

Regardless what they said you can still replace the blown capacitors. i have done it myself. Pay someone with a degree in electronics 20-30$ and he will do it for your. No need for a new PC if you were happy with the old one

Not for refurbs, that's their standard configuration for the most part and they're trying to unload old inventory.

Is it trustworthy? I've bought a dozen or so of them over the past 5 years for relatives and haven't had any problems. They mostly seem unused. But, that's my USA experience. I can't speak for your area.

stuff like this

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fast-Dell-3-3Ghz-i5-4590-Quad-Core-8GB-RAM-WiFi-Windows-10-Desktop-Computer-PC/333485079159?hash=item4da5427a77:g:HZUAAOSwgxhfIHWJ

$160 hard to beat. Throw in a $20 boot SSD and you're in business.

Would have to see what prices and availability are in your area, though.

The shop does not have staff that can fix your issue they just have guys that can assemble a computer and that's all.

You need a guy that fixes TVs, DVDs and such things with an electronics degree to remove the blown capacitors and replace them with new. Its a 10-15 min job for someone that is qualified.

It makes more sense to replace some capacitors than buy a whole computer.

" It makes more sense to replace some capacitors than buy a whole computer."

Yeah, ikr. the retails shops keep asking to buy new stuff when the component can be fixed with a cost of much lower.
