Build I'm putting together for a friend. 10900k and 2080 Super Build!

A buddy of mine bought a new computer he's having me put together for him, most of the parts got here today so I got it setup to bench test it. Only waiting on the case, currently installing COD and some of his games to test out while I wait for him to get the case. I told him to wait for ampere and Zen3 instead of getting Intel and a 20 series card but he was antsy as hell to get a rig going so this is what he got. I'll update with more pics and benchmarks once I get the case in and the build finished.

EVGA RTX 2080 Super XC Ultra

Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360R RGB

1TB Crucial P1 Nvme M.2 SSD

6TB Seagate Barracuda

Seasonic GM-750 80+ Gold

Cooler Master Masterbox TD500 Mesh

10900K was seriously poor choice. 3900X beats it at close to half the price. Not to mention the additional cost of the Z490 mobo.

I told him that, like I said in the post I'm just the builder. I recommended he wait until September and get a Ryzen build with a new Ampere card but he couldn't wait, he's also an Intel fanboy so Ryzen was off the table even if it is cheaper and a better over all CPU for what he's doing. He said he's had to much negative experience with AMD to ever buy something from them again.

Well, I'm not talking about waiting or just being cheaper. Something like a 10600K competes well with similar AMD chips, but 10900K is just garbage value. A 3900X will take it to school, and you can get even more powerful 3000 series AMD CPUs than that.

Like I said, I tried, I didn't purchase or pick out these parts it's all him. I explained to him the benefits and he didn't listen, I tried my best to convince him but he wasn't having it, he said he's not going to buy AMD again because he has had too many negative experiences.

ROFL. I get it. Well, maybe that 10900K will teach him a lesson better than you can. Sure is an expensive lesson, though. Could pretty near build an entire PC that would outperform his rig, for the price of the CPU and board alone.  (Except for the graphics card, that is)

Hey, I guess it's good Intel has some loyal fans. Might keep them alive long enough to get their act together.
