i need some opinions on this build plan

Budget (including currency): $1800

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: games like apex legands and valorent

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

i have all the peripherals i need just wanting to know how this build will perform, do you have any recommendations? Also i have heard you can get windows 10 for free without a product key is this true?

Yep. Just install it. Windows 10 (at this very moment) will work indefinitely without activation. I'll compile a very long list below of what limitations you'll have to deal with if you don't activate Windows.

  1. Inability to set a wallpaper
  2. Inability to set system theme
  3. Inability to set system colors
  4. The Settings app complaining to activate your computer
  5. A "Activate Windows" watermark in the bottom right corner of your screen

I hear some of these things can be worked around.

yes*

*no personalisation (basically just aesthetics, u dont lose any features) and you get a watermark at the bottom right

1) i would use the stock cooler, or at least a cheaper air cooler, unless you like the aesthetics. the extra cost isnt worth it if you're after performance

2) you dont need thermal paste for first time install, but it would be handy to have one tube around, i guess.

3) man that case looks like it's gonna choke airflow, but if you like the looks then it's fine, purchased anyways

4) not too sure about PSU, and i'm not qualified to talk about PSU

5) u can get windows 10 cheaper from certain places

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Thank you!!

All right. So, no need for an AIO water cooler, the stock cooler is just fine.

No need for thermal paste, it comes pre applied to the stock cooler and you get some with the Hyper 212 if you want to go a little bit extra.

Not a great pick on the storage you should have gone with a M.2 SSD and a larger HDD (for around the same price), but it works.

Buy a $5 key on eBay for Windows don't spend $165 it's pointless.

With your savings you totally could have bought a 2060 but it's a bit late for that.

i got it from a place near me in person so i could possibly return it i have taken it out of the box once just to look at it then i put it back the way it was do you think it is worth returning it and getting the 2060

If we do get 2060/5600XT replacements with the Ampere/RDNA2 launch that is, which if you check pretty much all GPU launches in recent memory, won't be the case.
